WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
We’re building a new kind of career fair — warm, human-centered, and focused on real conversations before the résumés. As one of our featured coaches you’ll lead a 60-minute breakout session on your expert career-focused theme. For all coaches who wish to apply, here’s what we’re asking:
Come ready to share your expertise in a group setting and guide participants with practical insights.
Keep the focus on helping job seekers within your expert area of coaching.
Maintain a supportive, judgment-free environment.
Be prepared to answer questions, facilitate discussion, and provide actionable insights.
Optional: Provide a free resource or takeaway (e.g., tip sheet, journaling prompt, checklist). This not only supports job seekers but also highlights your unique coaching style.
We know many attendees are unemployed and may feel vulnerable. That’s why coaching participation is volunteer-based. Your visibility, recognition, and potential client connections are your primary benefits. Any follow-up will happen through our post-event coach directory, ensuring the event stays supportive, safe, and pressure-free for all.
FAQs for coaches
-
Coaches provide guidance during mock interviews or breakout sessions, offering practical feedback and career advice to participants.
-
All coaches will need to spend 1 hour on the day of the event in your break-out room. During this time, you’ll speak about your area of coaching expertise, and can use any format you prefer. Please be sure to leave room for Q&A either after your presentation, or during.
-
We’re looking for professionals with career or leadership experience who have several years in their field—enough to confidently lead a session and support participants. No formal certifications are required. Once you submit your interest, we’ll connect with you to discuss the opportunity and confirm it’s a good fit on both sides.
-
Coaches volunteer their time, but the event offers exposure, networking, and recognition in event materials.
-
The event is not a sales platform, so please keep sessions focused on providing value. If an attendee expresses interest in working with you further, direct them to the BTR Coaches page where they can connect with you after the event. This ensures sessions remain supportive and unbiased, while still giving participants the option to follow up with you independently.
